marlow-matchstick-pedestal-table
Marlow Matchstick Pedestal Table

The Marlow Matchstick Pedestal Table from Four Hands is a compact round side table cast in aluminum, its surface ridged in rows that read like matchsticks laid edge to edge. The top is a thin tray set on a weighted pedestal base, which keeps the footprint small and the table steady. Casting leaves the metal with a faintly uneven face, so light moves across it differently from every angle.

The pattern gives a plain geometric form a graphic rhythm, something close to weaving rendered in metal. Two finishes, an aged black and a deep rust, suit the worn-in look of the Marlow suite. It sits well beside leather, bouclé and rattan, and it holds its own against the heavier woods and stone of a maximalist room.

Set it beside a sofa for a lamp or a drink, or slide it between two chairs where a full-size side table would crowd the seating. It also works in an entry, a bedroom corner or a reading nook. Cast aluminum is an indoor/outdoor metal, so the table can move to a covered porch when the season suits it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0787/8213/6547/files/four-hands-marlow-matchstick-pedestal-table-1.jpg?v=1793892641
