Azien Dining Table

Azien Dining Table

A sculptural dining table from Four Hands, built on two thick, angular pedestal bases that carry an overscaled top. The table is made of solid oak with oak veneer, finished in a deep espresso stain that keeps the grain visible. The edge is reverse chamfered all the way around, which gives the top a sharp, shadowed profile and makes the slab look lighter than it is. The base frames are mitered at the joints, and leveling feet help the table sit true on uneven floors.

The shape is architectural and a little monumental. Two heavy bases, a broad top and a dark, grained finish read as modern without going cold, closer to a gallery plinth than a farmhouse trestle. It holds its own beside rounded chairs, woven seats or leather, and it can take a strong rug underneath.

Because the legs sit in from the ends, the table keeps its seating open along both sides, with room for knees and chairs pushed all the way in. Set it in a dining room as the main event, or use it in an open plan as the piece that separates the kitchen from the living area. It comes in two lengths, one for a regular dining room and one for a hall that hosts a crowd.
