Some places sell things. We sell obsession

You have been looking for this place

You might not have called it that. But you know the feeling: walking through a store where nothing has a reason to be there. Hiring someone to help you design a space and ending up with something that looks like it belongs to someone else entirely. Wanting a place in a city that has actual soul, not a concept, not a formula, just something real that took time and care and a genuine point of view to build.

High St. has been that place in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine since 2000. We didn't get here by following the playbook. There isn't a playbook for what we are.

It started with a woman named Rosemary

She wasn't a designer. She wasn't a retailer. She was a mentor, the kind of person who sees potential in you before you've earned it, and holds the door open long enough for you to walk through.

High St. was built by someone whose path to this city, this industry, and this building was anything but straight. It wound through jobsites and farm fields, through states and seasons and a childhood that demanded constant self-reliance. The lesson that stuck wasn't about design, it was simpler and more durable than that: figure it out. Make something real. Don't wait to be told how.

The brand was built the way most worthwhile things are: not from a business plan, but from instinct, hard-won taste, and the refusal to wait for permission. The ethos here is decidedly hands-on, there's a deep reverence for things made well, sourced honestly, and designed to actually live in. That's not a marketing position. It's a value system that runs through everything we sell, every space we create, and every glass we pour.

01 — THE STORE

Come for the store

17,000 square feet. Two floors. Furniture, lighting, jewelry, clothing, books, home goods, and gifts, sourced from independent makers who take their work seriously enough that we can take it seriously too.

High St. opened with a clear conviction: there is an enormous difference between retail that sells things and retail that means something. The curation is rigorous. The welcome is genuine. We edit relentlessly, not to be precious about it, but because your time is finite and your rooms deserve better than the ordinary.

You will find things here that surprise you. You will buy something you didn't plan on buying. You will tell someone about it. This happens constantly. We are not tired of it.

02 — THE DESIGN STUDIO

Stay for the design

The High St. interior design studio has been operating for over twenty-five years. The award that matters most to us is the repeat client, the one who trusted us with one room and came back for the whole house. The one who called from across the country because they'd heard we actually listen.

Projects completed across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, New York, Florida, Illinois, Utah, Michigan, and California. What those projects share isn't a signature aesthetic, it's a signature commitment: spaces that are unmistakably yours. Pragmatic enough to work. Creative enough to feel inevitable.

Every great project starts the same way: with someone who is done settling. If that's you, we should talk.

03 — ROSEMARY'S

Linger at Rosemary's

There is a coffee + wine + cocktail + lite-bite bar on the second floor that has absolutely no business being this good inside a furniture store, and we say that as the highest possible compliment to ourselves.

Rosemary's offers espresso, specialty teas, natural wines, craft cocktails, and small plates in a room built to make time move differently. It's named after Rosemary, a mentor, a believer, the kind of person who makes you feel like the thing you're trying to build is already inevitable if you just keep going. She used that gift generously.

We named a bar after her because the best tribute to someone who made space for others is to build a room and say: come in, sit down, there's something good waiting for you.

A multi-story treasure trove... finding things you didn’t know you needed, but suddenly cannot live without.
