The Barto Dining Table from Four Hands is a long, heavy-set table built on two matching pedestal bases. The top is thick oak veneer in an aged smoked finish, edged with a rounded bullnose, and the bases are solid oak. A narrow gap between the pedestals keeps the whole piece from reading as one block and gives it a lighter stance than its weight suggests.
The design draws on soft Brutalism, where mass and plain geometry carry the look but the edges are eased. The top swells into arched long sides that curve into rounded corners, so the outline feels sculpted rather than boxy. The smoked oak grain runs dark and moody, which sits well beside pale plaster walls, woven seating, matte-glazed ceramics, or a loud vintage rug underfoot.
Put it in a dining room that hosts often. The open space between the bases lets chairs pull in without catching on legs, and a long run of guests can sit along each side. It also works as a shared desk or a project table in a big open room, and the leg levelers help it settle on uneven floors.
