The Donna is a swivel chair built around a rounded, sculptural body, upholstered in a brushed-and-pulled textile with a soft pile that shifts in tone as the light moves across it. The cover is a blend of acrylic, polyester, and wool in a warm bone shade, set over a webbed seat and a single fixed back cushion. Underneath, a solid oak bullnose plinth base gives the generous curves a grounded, architectural footing and turns a full rotation.
Four Hands developed the Donna with Thomas Bina, a longtime collaborator, and Brazilian designer Ronald Sasson. The silhouette draws on the low, enveloping lounge shapes of mid-century Brazilian and 1970s European design, softened by the nubby surface of the fabric. The pale upholstery and honey-toned oak sit easily beside dark wood, lacquered side tables, saturated rugs, or a wall of color.
Place it in a living room corner or by a window, where the swivel lets you turn from the conversation to the view without moving the chair. It suits a reading spot, a pair flanking a sofa, or a single sculptural anchor in an entry sitting area or study.
