The Olexey Oval Dining Table from Four Hands is a long pedestal table in light oak, built around a curved base that reads as a single sculpted gesture. The top and base are solid oak and thick oak veneer, finished in a rubbed light tone that lets the grain show through. Because the base is scooped out rather than set on four corner legs, chairs tuck in easily and there is room for knees all the way around the oval.
The oval shape softens the rectangle most dining tables default to, and the pedestal gives the whole piece a floating, carved quality. It sits in the organic-modern camp, closer to mid-century curves than to farmhouse planks. Pair it with upholstered or woven chairs, a wool rug underneath, and a pendant hung low over the center.
This is a table for a dining room that hosts, with generous room for a full house at holiday dinners or a long Sunday supper. Day to day it works as a homework table, a place to spread out a puzzle, or a working surface when the laptop moves out of the study. Leg levelers on the base help it settle on floors that are not quite true.
