Shira Coffee Table

A round coffee table from Four Hands that pairs a thick slab of cast glass with a solid oak pedestal. The base is broad and boldly scaled, so the glass appears to float above a block of warm, pale wood. Cast glass has a slight density and softness at the edges that flat-cut glass lacks, and the top sits low and substantial. The table is weighty, and leveling feet under the base keep it steady on uneven floors.

The Shira suite plays one material against the other. Glass brings light and transparency, while oak brings grain and a matte, grounded finish. The silhouette is rounded and sculptural, in line with the soft-modern pieces that sit comfortably next to bouclé seating, plaster lamps, and a wool rug. A matching end table is made to nest beside it, which gives a seating area two heights without a second visual language.

Use it at the center of a living room where a rectangular table would crowd the walkway, or in a reading corner where the round edge is easier to move around. The glass top takes a stack of books, a tray, and a vase of cut stems, and it shows off the oak base and floor beneath it. Wipe the glass clean as needed, and treat the oak as you would any finished wood furniture.
