The Design Studio
We approach interior design the same way we approach our shop: with a deep reverence for history, texture, and objects that tell a story. Let us help you find yours.
Coffee table books are the ones you leave out on purpose: the design monograph a guest picks up before you've poured the wine or the photography spine that pulls a whole room together.
Ours are hand-selected in our 17,000-square-foot Cincinnati showroom in Over-the-Rhine because they belong in plain sight. You'll find design and art books, oversized photography volumes, fashion retrospectives, cookbooks that earn a spot on the counter, travel books that carry a bit of somewhere else, and the occasional novel we couldn't put down.
Some celebrate a single designer or photographer. Others gather decades of work into one volume. They're just as beautiful on the table as they are in your hands. We stock them because a good book is still the best gift, the kind that gets shelved and returned to rather than forgotten.
If you're shopping for someone in particular, start with what they love: design, travel, fashion, photography, or food. The right book usually follows. For gifts beyond books, our Gifts collection has its own mix of finds. And since the shelf shares space with our stationery, the card and the wrapping paper are here, too.
FAQ
We don't do FAQ pages with scripted corporate answers. If you have a question that isn't here, just ask. That's what we're here for.
The best coffee table books pair a cover worth displaying with content worth returning to. On our shelves, that means design and architecture monographs, art coffee table books filled with gallery-scale photography, fashion retrospectives, image-led cookbooks, and the occasional travel title or novel we keep coming back to.
Most measure roughly 10 to 15 inches, a large format that gives full-bleed photography room to shine. Large coffee table books look best on a generous surface. If your table runs small, pair one oversized volume with a couple of slimmer titles and vary the stack heights.
Yes, and they're one of the few gifts that gets better with time. A well-chosen book gets shelved, lent, and returned to for years, which is why it's one of our favorite gifts for weddings, housewarmings, and hard-to-shop-for readers.
Stack in threes, largest on the bottom, and top the pile with a tray or a small object. Leave a little breathing room around the stack so the covers do the talking, and swap the top title when the room changes with the season so the stack never goes stale. Many of these titles started as references in our own design projects. If you're furnishing a room from the ground up, our Design Studio can help create a space where the books, furniture, and objects all feel like they belong.
