Abaso is a long, low console table from Four Hands, built from thick-cut oak veneer and finished to echo the weathered, grained look of wormwood. Chunky squared legs carry a deep, heavy top, and dovetail joinery shows at the corners. It is open underneath, with no doors or drawers, so the weight of the piece comes entirely from its proportions and its surface.
The look is rustic with a modern, blocky edge. The wormwood-style finish brings visible grain and texture, and it comes in a natural oak tone, a darker ebony and a pale whitewash, each in a choice of lengths. It sits comfortably with plaster or painted walls, oversized framed art, hand-thrown ceramics and woven baskets, and it holds its own next to leather and linen.
Put it behind a sofa, along a long entry wall or under a window in a dining room where it can serve as a sideboard-height landing spot. The top is deep enough for a pair of table lamps, a stack of books and a tray for keys or mail. Leg levelers on the base help it stand steady on older floors.
