Aidan Bed

A low-profile upholstered platform bed from Four Hands, built on a solid wood frame with a deep, padded headboard that carries most of the visual weight. The lines are clean and the edges are soft, with no tufting or trim to interrupt the form. Upholstery comes in a chenille-like polyester weave, a tobacco-brown faux leather, an olive cotton-and-polyester blend, or sheared sheepskin set on a walnut base. Slatted support is built in, so no box spring is needed.

The design draws on modern Italian bedroom furniture, where the bed sits close to the floor and the headboard does the talking. Texture is the main event here. The woven and sheared finishes read warm and tactile, while the tobacco leather-look gives the same shape a darker, more tailored mood. It sits comfortably next to rough plaster walls, wood nightstands with some age on them, and brass or ceramic lamps.
