The Artie is an armless dining chair from Four Hands, built around channel tufting that runs in long vertical rows across both the seat and the back. The frame is solid oak with slim, tapered legs, and the seat rides on webbing with foam and fiber batting beneath the upholstery. Corner-block joinery keeps the frame tight, and the cushions are fixed in place so the chair holds its shape through daily use.
The stitched channels are a nod to Art Deco upholstery, softened here with a woven textile and warm, wood-toned framing. The tapered legs keep the silhouette light, so the chair reads as tailored without crowding a room. It sits comfortably beside a pedestal table, a plaster or lacquered sideboard, and brass or smoked-glass lighting.
Pull up a pair or a full set to a dining table, or use a single chair at a desk, a vanity, or the corner of an entry where a side chair is needed. The upholstery is a fabric that rewards a little attention, so keep it away from direct sun and spills. The chair is available in two upholstery and wood finish options.
