The Barth Console Table from Four Hands is a long, pill-shaped table built from light reclaimed woods and rustic iron. The solid mixed reclaimed wood top has a rounded oval profile and a visible patchwork of grain, knots and tonal shifts, so no two tops read quite alike. Underneath, a trestle-style base joins the frame with mortise and tenon joinery, and leg levelers keep it steady on uneven floors. It is a heavy, substantial table that stays put once it's placed.
The design pulls from colonial furniture. Soft curves, collar details at the legs and an open trestle stance give it a romantic, slightly worn-in character. The pale wood keeps the iron from feeling severe, and the dark metal gives the lighter top some definition. It sits comfortably with rattan, plaster-washed walls, painted antiques or a more pared-back modern room.
Set it behind a sofa, along a hallway or in an entry, where the long top can hold lamps, a tray of keys, stacked books and a vase of branches. With no drawers or doors, the open space below fits baskets or a pair of stools. It can move from room to room as your layout changes, and it holds up to everyday use as a place to drop things.
