The Baum Chandelier from Four Hands is a rounded fixture that reads as one sculptural form overhead. The body is wood veneer over an iron frame, in dark walnut or black-stained oak, or solid aluminum in a burnished brass finish, with a thermoplastic diffuser inside. An LED strip is concealed in the body, so the light comes through as a soft, even glow with no bare bulb in sight.
Baum is German for tree, and the wood-grain versions earn the name, with veneer figure that varies from one fixture to the next. The walnut pairs the grain with a bronze-toned suspension, the black oak goes graphic and quiet, and the brass aluminum brings a warmer metallic shine. The mid-century curve sits easily with plaster walls, round tables, and rooms already full of mixed woods and patterned textiles.
Hang it over a dining table, in an entry, or in the middle of an open living room where a ceiling needs a focal point. It is hardwired, dry rated for indoor use, and adjustable on its cord, so the drop can be set to suit your ceiling. A certified electrician can alter the fixture for dimming, and it is not recommended for sloped ceilings.
