The Bingham Console Table from Four Hands is a long, heavy-set console with a thick, slab-like top over an intersecting base of rustic oak veneer. The top is finished in distressed iron, darkened and worn in a way that reads as aged metal rather than paint. The base is built with mortise and tenon joinery and edge-banded veneer, and the oak shows its grain, knots and color shifts openly. It has no doors and no drawers, which keeps the open, sculptural base in view.
The design pairs two opposite textures: cool, weathered metal above and warm, character-rich wood below. The crossing base gives the table a geometric, almost architectural profile, and the overall mood is organic and a little raw. It sits easily with plaster walls, woven rugs, heavy ceramics and older pieces with some history of their own.
Set it along a long entry wall, behind a sofa, or beneath a window in a hallway where it can carry lamps, a tray of keys, stacked books or a long run of vases. The open base leaves room underneath for baskets or benches, and leg levelers help it sit steady on uneven floors. Expect each table to differ slightly in grain and finish, which is part of how the oak and iron look together.
