A long, angular trestle dining table from Four Hands, and one of the pieces in its 30th Anniversary Capsule. The top is grey-finished oak that keeps its character in plain view, with open knots and hairline cracks left as part of the grain. It is a heavy, solid-feeling table with a thick top and a chamfered edge that catches light along its length.
The panel legs slant inward and repeat the cut of the top's edge, while a stretcher between them adds a hard horizontal line and a bit of visual tension. Dark brass detailing warms the grey wood. The look sits between rustic and architectural, which suits plaster walls, brick, and rooms that already mix old and new.
Set it in a dining room or a wide kitchen and let it carry daily meals, homework, and long dinners that run late. The slanted panel legs keep the corners clear, so chairs and benches tuck in easily around the perimeter. Knots and cracks vary from table to table, so each one arrives with its own markings.
