The Cameron End Table from Four Hands is a drum-shaped iron table with a round top and a straight cylindrical body. The antique brass finish is worked so the metal shifts in tone from one area to the next, running darker in some places and lighter in others. That gradual blending gives the surface depth, and no two tables will read exactly alike. Adjustable levelers under the base keep it steady on older floors.
The form is plain on purpose, so the finish carries the design. The warm, shaded brass sits comfortably with walnut and oak, bouclé and velvet, and pattern-heavy rooms that need one quiet, metallic surface. It has the glow of aged hardware rather than polished gold, which keeps it from competing with louder pieces nearby.
Set it beside a sofa or lounge chair to hold a lamp, a book and a drink. Two of them also work well, one at each end of a sofa or on either side of a bed in place of nightstands. A soft dry cloth is all the surface asks for.
