A side chair from Four Hands, built around a curved barrel back in solid parawood and fully upholstered in a woven, linen-blend fabric. The frame is joined with mortise and tenon and corner blocks, and the seat rides on webbing under a foam pad wrapped in polyester batting. It has no arms, so it tucks close to the table and sits easily at the end or along the side.
The silhouette is rounded and sculptural, with a back that wraps the sitter instead of standing flat behind them. One version pairs a dark, burnt parawood finish with a cool gray fabric. The other pairs a washed, pale wood with a warm natural weave. Both read as quiet shapes that mix with oak tables, stone tops, or a pedestal base without competing for attention.
Set a run of them around a dining table, or use a pair at a kitchen table, a writing desk, or the corner of an entry. The textured cover hides daily wear, and the seat is deep enough for a long dinner. Because the frame is solid wood, it holds up to regular rearranging from room to room.
