The Celeste Accent Bench from Four Hands is a long, kidney-shaped bench with a soft curve running through its whole profile. The base is thick ash veneer in a toasted finish, topped with an upholstered seat over a wooden platform, with a fill of polyurethane foam and polyester batting. Leg levelers underneath keep it steady on uneven floors, and the frame is built to carry a full row of sitters.
It belongs to the Celeste suite, and the rounded, organic outline draws on the sculptural, softly modern furniture of the 1970s. Warm ash grain against a velvety seat gives it two textures to look at, and without arms the silhouette reads as one unbroken line. It sits comfortably beside travertine, boucle, brass, and dark wood, and it holds its own as the only curve in a room of straight edges.
Set it at the foot of a bed, under a long window, or behind a sofa to divide an open living area. In an entry it gives a group a place to pull on boots, and in a gallery-style hallway it works as seating and as a low sculptural object at once.
