A sling chair from Four Hands with a solid parawood frame that is shaped, curved and smoothed on every edge. The seat and back cushions are upholstered in top-grain leather, with a loose, boxed back cushion and a deep seat cushion filled with feather, foam and fiber. The leather comes from a family-owned tannery in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, one of the oldest in the region, and is processed from salvaged, upcycled hides. Natural markings, scars and shifts in color stay visible, so each chair reads as its own.
The silhouette borrows from the classic campaign and sling chair, then gives it a lower stance, slim flat arms and a frame with soft, rounded edges. It belongs to the Four Hands Kensington collection, which mixes traditional detailing with clean lines. The leather has a buttery hand and a lived-in look from day one, and it pairs well with wool rugs, plaster walls, brass lamps and other pieces that carry some age. Color options run from a warm brown to black, and a cream version swaps in a woven sling arm.
Set it in a living room corner beside a bookcase, or angle two of them toward a coffee table for conversation. The deep seat suits long afternoons with a book, and the leather will soften and darken with use. Vacuum or brush lightly to keep it clean, and skip cleaning products.
