The Cressida console from Four Hands is a long, low table wrapped in painted linen, built on a frame-and-panel structure with edge-banded veneer underneath. Three drawers run across the front, each joined with English dovetails and fitted with undermount metal glides that close softly. Slim arched legs lift the whole body off the floor and leave a clear gap beneath.
The shaping is clean and modern, and the arches take the edge off all those straight lines. Half-moon iron pulls in an antique brass tone bring in a note of art deco without turning the piece into a period reproduction. The painted linen comes in ivory or black, and the surface carries the slight texture of woven cloth rather than the flatness of paint on wood. It sits comfortably with round mirrors, ceramic table lamps, and low stacks of books.
Put it behind a sofa, along an entry wall, or under a media screen where the drawers can hold remotes, cords, linens, or mail. The top is deep enough for a lamp and a bowl of keys without crowding, and the leg levelers help it sit steady on an uneven floor.
