The Elena sideboard and hutch from Four Hands is a tall, slim storage piece built from solid mango wood and gunmetal-finished iron. The frame is joined with mortise and tenon, and the lower cabinet closes with two solid hinged doors held by magnetic catches. Open shelving flanks the cabinet and carries on through the hutch above, and leg levelers keep it steady on uneven floors.
Mango gives the piece its warm, visible grain, while the dark iron frame draws a hard line around it. That contrast reads as mid-century in its proportions and a little industrial in its finish, with none of the bulk of a traditional china cabinet. A shallow profile means it sits close to the wall and still holds a full run of shelves.
Use the closed cabinet for table linens, serving pieces and the platters that only come out for company, and keep glassware, cookbooks and ceramics on the open shelves where they can be seen. It suits a dining room, an entry that needs real storage, or a living room wall that wants a bookcase with a cabinet underneath. The top of the sideboard makes a good landing spot for a lamp, a tray of bottles or a bowl of fruit.
