Eva Console Table

The Eva Console Table from Four Hands is a long, low console in oak veneer over a plywood core, with the top folding down into the sides in one continuous waterfall line. The corners are rounded generously, which takes the edge off a strict rectangle and gives the whole piece a soft, carved look. Veneer-banded edges keep the surface reading as a single sheet of wood, and the pale, weathered oak tone shows grain without leaning orange.

The shape is quiet but sculptural, a cousin of mid-century and Scandinavian casegoods where the profile does the talking and hardware stays out of it. There are no doors or drawers, so the lines stay clean and the open space beneath keeps the table visually light. It sits comfortably next to plaster lamps, glazed ceramics, brass candlesticks and a large piece of art leaning on the wall behind.

The depth is shallow, which suits a narrow entry, a hallway, or the back of a sofa where a full-depth sideboard would crowd the room. It also works as a media wall base for a low-profile television, or as a landing strip for keys, mail and a stack of books. Two lengths are offered, so it can be matched to the wall instead of the other way around.
