The Ford Console Table from Four Hands takes the silhouette of a dresser and slims it into a console. A case wrapped in painted linen holds six drawers, and the whole piece rests on slender solid oak legs that leave a strip of floor visible underneath. The drawers are English dovetailed and run on black side-mount metal glides, and an anti-tip kit comes in the box.
The palette is quiet and tonal, with beige linen over a pale, sandy oak. The painted linen gives the case a soft, slightly textured face that reads closer to plaster or fine cloth than to a lacquered cabinet. It pairs well with rounded ceramics, bouclé and rattan, or with darker woods and brass lamps that give the pale surface something to push against.
Behind a sofa or in an entry hall, it keeps linens, mail and board games out of sight and leaves the top clear for a lamp, a stack of books and a bowl. In a dining room it works as a low sideboard for serving pieces and table linens. In a bedroom it can stand in for a dresser where a full chest would feel too heavy.
