The Glenview is a long rectangular dining table from Four Hands, built on a double pedestal base with two broad ski-style legs instead of corner posts. The top is solid oak paired with thick oak veneer, finished light and weathered so the grain stays visible and the surface reads as wood first. Bore-and-dowel joinery holds the frame together, and the thick top gives the table a calm, grounded look from across the room.
Simple lines and a restrained finish put this table in the rustic-modern camp, closer to a farmhouse bench than a formal banquet. The weathered oak finish is pale and warm, while the smoked black oak option pushes the same form toward something moodier and more graphic. Because the base sits inboard, chairs tuck in at any position along the length, and the table pairs easily with upholstered dining chairs, woven pendants, linen runners, and ceramics with a bit of weight to them. It belongs to the Glenview suite, which also includes dining chairs, a console, and a coffee table.
Plan on this one as the center of a dining room that gets used for more than dinner. It handles weeknight meals, long holiday spreads, homework, and the occasional game night, and the open space between the pedestals leaves room for legs at either end. Oak varies from board to board, so grain, knots, and tone will differ from one table to the next, and each one ends up a little its own.
