The Halston from Four Hands is a low-slung lounge chair with a matching ottoman, built around a deeply tufted sling seat of top-grain leather. The hides come from a family-owned tannery in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, and are salvaged and processed from upcycled stock, so scars, natural markings and shifts in color stay visible in the finished surface. The leather is supple and buttery to the touch, and it settles into a lived-in look with use. A wide solid wood frame holds the sling at a reclined pitch, with buttoned seat and back cushions that sit semi-attached over foam and fiber fill.
The design borrows from Seventies lounge seating, the kind of chair you might have found at a flea market and carried home. The sling silhouette, button tufting and broad, squared wood frame give it a vintage profile, while the leather keeps it grounded and warm. It pairs well with a shag or flatweave rug, a brass arc lamp, and walls that can handle some pattern.
Place it in a living room corner or beside a window as a dedicated reading chair, with the ottoman pulled close for stretching out. It seats one person, and the semi-attached cushions are meant for long, slouching afternoons. Because the hides carry natural variation, no two chairs look exactly alike.
