The Jade Console Table from Four Hands is a long, narrow iron console with a curved stretcher base that gives it an open, sculptural line. The metal is hammered and finished in a textured bronze, so the surface reads as hand-worked and a little uneven in the light. It has real weight to it, sits steady on leg levelers, and ships with an anti-tip kit.
The design borrows from Art Deco, where a single sweeping curve does the work that ornament would do elsewhere. The slim legs and open base keep the table visually light despite its length, and the bronze tone sits comfortably against dark wood, plaster walls, brass, mirror glass and saturated paint colors. It is a good counterpoint to heavier upholstered pieces and layered rugs.
Set it behind a sofa, along an entry wall or down a hallway, where its length can hold a pair of lamps, a stack of books and a tray for keys. There are no doors or drawers, so everything on it is on display, and the open space below leaves room for baskets or a low bench. In a media room it can carry a screen and a few objects without crowding the wall.
