A low, substantial coffee table that gives a living room a solid center of gravity. The top is a single piece of fossil marble, set with a generous overhang over a thick base of solid mango wood. Veining and fossil markings run across the whole surface uninterrupted, so each table reads a little differently from the next.
Designed by Amber Lewis in collaboration with Four Hands, the Kamina follows the soft-cornered geometry of her California-rooted collection. The overhang of the top echoes the gently swooped pedestal beneath it, which keeps two heavy materials from feeling blocky. Warm chestnut wood against pale stone sits easily with bouclé, linen, worn leather, and rugs with some pile.
Set it between a sofa and a pair of lounge chairs and it becomes the table everyone reaches for, with room for a stack of books, a tray, a bowl of fruit, and a few cups at once. The rounded corners are kinder to walkways and small children than a sharp square would be, and leveling feet help it sit true on older floors. Plan the placement before it arrives, since the marble makes it a heavy piece to move.
