The Marcia is a long, low accent bench built from reclaimed French oak, with a top-grain leather cushion resting on a wooden platform seat. The frame is joined with mortise and tenon construction, and the joints are left visible and slightly exaggerated so the carpentry becomes part of the look. The cushion is buttoned and tufted over a foam and fiber fill. Reclaimed oak keeps its own grain, color shifts, and marks, so no two benches read quite alike.
Four Hands produced the bench from a design by Thomas Bina and Ronald Sasson, a partnership that blends modern minimalism with Brazilian influences. Every edge is rounded, which softens the straight rectangular profile and gives the piece a playful side. The nubuck leather is a deep cigar brown, set against oak in either a natural or a grey finish depending on the version. It sits comfortably with plaster walls, woven rugs, and other pieces drawn from mid-century and Brazilian modern design.
Set it at the foot of a bed, along an entry wall, or under a living room window where several people can sit at once. The open legs leave a stretch of floor visible beneath, which keeps the length from feeling heavy. Use it for pulling on shoes, stacking folded throws, or seating when people gather.
