The Margot Swivel Chair from Four Hands is a low, deep, pillow-shaped lounge chair made to be sunk into. The frame is pine plywood with corner-block and mortise-and-tenon joinery, and the seat rides on S-spring suspension under a fill of polyurethane foam and polyester fiber batting. The upholstery is a plush, heavily textured weave with real loft, and the base turns a full rotation on leg levelers that keep it steady on the floor.
The silhouette comes straight out of the Seventies, with a wide, rounded body, a back that wraps into broad arms, and a seat set close to the ground. Four Hands has pushed the texture further than the original shapes ever went, so the surface reads as soft and slightly shaggy rather than smooth. It looks right beside a travertine coffee table, a walnut sideboard, or brass and smoked glass, and it holds its own against a bold rug. The finishes run from cream and moss to granite gray, rust, and mushroom, so the chair can blend into a room or lead it.
Set it in a living room corner or at the end of a seating group, where the swivel lets you turn from the conversation to the window without getting up. It also works as a reading chair in a study or bedroom, with room to pull your legs up. Spot clean with a water-based cleaner, and give it a clear footprint, since the body is generous and the arms are wide.
