The Melina from Four Hands is a double-pedestal dining table in weathered acacia, built to anchor a room rather than sit politely in it. The top is thick acacia veneer over solid acacia, with chamfered edges that soften the lines, and a substantial wooden stretcher ties the two pedestals together. The frame is joined with mortise and tenon, and leg levelers let it settle on an uneven floor.
As it stands, the table is a rectangle with a generous overhang at each end. Breadboard-style insert leaves slide in to stretch it into an oval, which shifts the table from a weeknight size to a long holiday one. The finish reads as a faded, sun-aged brown with visible grain, a rustic-modern look that sits easily beside woven chairs, linen runners, iron lighting, and leather seating.
Use it as the everyday table for meals, homework, and Sunday puzzles, then add the leaves when the guest list grows. The oval shape keeps elbows and chairs from crowding corners, so a larger group can sit comfortably around it. Natural variation in grain and tone is part of acacia, and no two tops will read exactly alike.
