A cubed end table from Four Hands, built from solid marble as one dense block with a slightly inset base that leaves a thin shadow line at the floor. There is no frame, no hardware and no visible joinery, so the stone does all of the work. Veining, color and surface texture shift from block to block, which means no two tops read quite the same.
The plinth is an old idea, borrowed from gallery pedestals and the plain geometric volumes of minimalist sculpture. Here it comes in three stone finishes: a warm taupe, a cool grey, and a smoky stone threaded with russet. The shape is quiet enough to sit beside boucle, leather or woven cane, and heavy enough to hold its ground against a brass lamp or a loud rug.
Set it beside a sofa or lounge chair to hold a lamp, a stack of books and a drink. It also works at the end of a bed, in an entry as a landing spot for keys and mail, or on its own as a low sculptural plinth for a vase or a single object. The weight keeps it steady, and leveling feet under the base help it sit true on an uneven floor.
