A monolithic dining table from Four Hands, built on a grand plinth base with subtly rounded corners and bullnose edges. The top and base combine solid oak with oak veneer, a pairing that gives you the natural movement of oak graining alongside the swirling, darker character of a burl finish. The proportions are long and low-slung, with a deep overhang and a thick edge that reads as one solid mass rather than a top set on legs.
The Morley suite draws on the chunky forms of 1970s design and the restraint of mid-century furniture. A warm brown rye finish keeps the burl from feeling loud, so the grain does the talking. It sits comfortably with sculptural chairs, woven pendants, ceramics in earthy glazes, or a table runner in something nubby and undyed.
Plan this one as the anchor of a dining room, where it can seat a full table of guests and still leave room for platters, candles, and a low arrangement down the middle. Leg levelers help it sit steady on uneven floors, and an anti-tip kit is included. Because burl and oak grain vary from tree to tree, each table will show its own pattern.
