The Nate Dining Chair from Four Hands is an armless side chair with a midcentury profile, upholstered in velvet-like polyester the soft grey-green of dried sage. Channeled stitching runs through the back and seat, giving the surface ridges that shift in tone as the light moves. Underneath, the frame is joined with mortise and tenon, corner blocks and iron reinforcement, and the seat is webbed and padded with polyurethane foam over solid nettlewood legs.
The legs taper to a narrow foot in a warm brown stain, a direct nod to Danish and American chairs of the 1950s. Brass nailheads, applied by hand along the edges, add a small tailored detail and a warm metallic note against the muted green. The color sits comfortably next to walnut and oak tables, stone or plaster walls, and brass pendants, and it holds its own in a set or mixed in with other chairs.
Because it has no arms, the chair slides easily under a dining table and takes up little room along a wall. It works just as well at a desk, a vanity, or a corner of the living room where an extra seat tends to be needed. The upholstery is velvet, so a soft brush and prompt attention to spills will keep the channeled surface looking its best.
