The Ranta is a round pedestal dining table from Four Hands, built around a drum base that has been split into quarters so light and sightlines pass straight through it. The base and top are solid mindi and mindi veneer, a tight-grained hardwood with a warm, even tone, finished in a saddle brown stain. Mortise-and-tenon joinery holds the frame together, and leg levelers under the base let it settle on an uneven floor.
The tabletop has a chamfered apron, a cut edge that gives the round form a crisp, tailored line instead of a soft bullnose. That sharp edge against the curved top is the table's main idea, a familiar shape redrawn with a more architectural hand. It sits comfortably with rattan or cane chairs, upholstered dining chairs, and plaster or limewashed walls, and the brown stain reads as warm against both pale and dark rooms.
A pedestal base means no corner legs to work around, so chairs can pull in from any side and the table suits a mix of seating, benches included. Use it in a dining room as the main table, in a breakfast room, or in a wide kitchen where a round form eases the traffic path. It is a heavy, substantial piece, so plan where it lives before it arrives.
