The Risa Bookcase from Four Hands is a tall, narrow oak veneer case built from soft-cornered openings in mixed proportions. Some compartments are broad and shallow, others tall enough for a stack of oversized books, and a few sit side by side in a staggered grid. The edges are banded in matching veneer, and leg levelers at the base keep it steady on uneven floors.
The curves put it somewhere between Scandinavian restraint and a more sculptural, gallery-shelf sensibility. It comes in two finishes: a natural oak with the grain showing, and a brushed ebony that reads nearly black and lets the grain come through as texture. The open layout and varied openings suit a mix of objects, so ceramics, framed prints, and paperbacks can share a shelf without looking staged.
It has a compact footprint for its height, so it fits beside a doorway, in a stairwell nook, or against a short wall where a wider case would crowd the room. Fill the larger openings with books and leave the smaller ones for a single vase or a lamp. Each shelf is rated for a moderate load, which suits books and collections but not a full wall of heavy hardcovers.
