The Ronda Dining Chair from Four Hands is an armless side chair built on a solid oak frame, with a fully upholstered seat and a low, open back. The cut-outs in the back interlock with the legs, so the frame reads as one joined piece instead of a seat set on four posts. Corner-block joinery holds the frame together, and the seat is padded with foam and fiber batting over webbing.
The design leans on Swedish restraint: plain oak, soft upholstery, and one carefully resolved detail where the back meets the leg. The oak comes in more than one finish and the upholstery in a soft woven textile, so the chair sits easily beside a plaster wall, a round pedestal table, or a dark wood trestle. It looks best in a set of four or six, though one or two make a good partner to a mix of older chairs.
Pull it up to a dining table for weeknight dinners, or use it at a kitchen island or writing desk where an armless chair tucks in out of the way. The upholstered seat is made for long meals and slow conversations, and the open back keeps the profile light in a smaller room.
