The silhouette comes out of the sculptural, rounded seating of the late twentieth century, with a back that reads as a series of half-rings from behind. The pile catches light differently across the curves, so the chair looks deeper in tone where the fabric bends and lighter where it lies flat. It sits comfortably next to a dark wood table, a travertine top, or a lacquered finish, and it holds its own beside more angular chairs.
