A Four Hands bookshelf built from solid reclaimed pine, open from top to bottom, with four movable planks that rest on a laddered frame. Because the wood is a mix of reclaimed boards, grain, knots and tone shift from plank to plank, and no two shelves read quite alike. The sundried wheat finish keeps the color light and warm, and leg levelers let it settle evenly on an uneven floor.
The Toscana suite takes its cue from farmhouse joinery, with clean lines, simple angles and none of the heaviness a wall of shelving can carry. The open ladder frame lets light and sightlines pass through, so the piece reads as a framework more than a block of furniture. It sits comfortably with woven baskets, glazed ceramics, linen and darker wood tones, and it holds up against bolder color and pattern as well.
Use it as a room divider, a living room library or a display wall in a study or dining room. The planks lift out and reposition, so a row of hardbacks, a stack of oversized art books and a tier of trailing plants can each get the spacing they need. Fill it in layers and leave a few gaps, since the frame looks best with some air in it.
