The Viola End Table from Four Hands is a round side table that gets its presence from the base: a smooth, weighted form in solid marble that anchors the whole piece. Slim iron piping rises from it to carry a tray-style top with a raised edge, which keeps a glass or a stack of books from wandering. Marble is a natural stone, so veining and tone vary from table to table.

The design plays heavy against light. A dense stone base meets thin black iron, and the contrast gives a small table the feel of a sculpture on a plinth. It comes in antique white marble with soft gray veining or in black marble, each with a dark iron frame, and it belongs to the Viola suite, so it sits comfortably beside the matching accent tables. It suits modern rooms and also steadies a more layered, collected one.

Set it beside a sofa or lounge chair for a drink and a book, or use it at the bedside, in an entry, or between two chairs. The low, wide top has room for a lamp base or a small stack of books, and the raised lip holds a few smaller objects. The base is heavy, so it stays put once placed.
