The Vista from Four Hands is an armless slipcovered dining chair built around a tall, curved back that wraps the shoulders and opens out toward the front of the seat. A solid wood frame, joined with mortise and tenon and reinforced with corner blocks, sits beneath a webbed seat padded with polyurethane foam and polyester batting. The slipcover is cut close to the frame and comes in flax linen in a natural canvas tone or a deep olive, plus a polyester and linen blend, each set on dark brown legs.
The silhouette is the draw. The sweeping back and tapered stance read as relaxed and tailored at once, a look that comes out of French farmhouse and modern slipcovered chairs. Linen brings a soft, slightly slubby texture that warms up lacquered or glass-topped tables, and the olive version adds a moody green note against plaster walls and aged wood.
Set it around a dining table in sets of four, six, or eight, or use a pair at a kitchen island or writing desk. The tall back suits long dinners, and the slipcovered finish gives a table a lived-in, easy look. Mix it with a bench on one side or an upholstered host chair at the head for a more layered table.
