A pair of round nesting tables from Four Hands, each a cast glass top resting on a slim, tapered iron frame finished in matte black. The glass is cast rather than cut from sheet, so it has weight and a slight depth of tint, and small variations in clarity and tone are part of the material. The two tops sit at different heights, which lets the smaller table slide beneath the larger one when the floor needs clearing.
The Yoko suite reads as contemporary and light-handed. Thin black legs give the glass a graphic outline, and the tints, smoke brown, moss green, and clear, change how much the tables disappear or stand out against a room. They sit comfortably beside a velvet sofa, a leather chair, or a rug with plenty of pattern, since the glass lets the surrounding color carry the scene.
Keep them together as a low coffee table in front of a sofa, or pull them apart to serve as drink tables beside an accent chair and a reading corner. When guests arrive, one can travel to the far end of the room for glasses and a small plate. Coasters are a good habit on cast glass and on the metal frames.
