The Charlotte Bench from Four Hands is a slim, armless bench with a long, low silhouette. A fixed knife-edge cushion of foam wrapped in fiber batting sits on a wooden platform, and the frame is solid wood joined with mortise and tenon and reinforced corner blocks. Black-finished steel legs hold it clear of the floor, which keeps the whole piece looking light. It comes upholstered in tan top-grain leather over whitewashed ash, or in loden green velvet over burnt oak.
The proportions borrow from midcentury benches, with a thin frame, tapered lines and a cushion that reads as one clean plane. The leather version has a warm, lived-in tan that softens against pale ash, and the velvet version is deeper and more saturated, with a darker wood tone. Both pair easily with brass, woven textures, and a stack of books or a folded throw.
Because it has no arms and a shallow depth, it fits where deeper seating will not. Set it in an entryway for pulling on boots, at the foot of a bed, or behind a sofa to catch an extra guest or two. The vendor's care guidance for the upholstery is a light vacuum or soft brush, so it suits the places people sit every day.
