The Rhett Dining Chair from Four Hands is a fully upholstered armchair with a barrel back that curves around the sitter and sets the whole seat into a single, cocoon-like shape. The frame is eucalyptus plywood reinforced with solid pine, and the seat is built on S-springs with a foam pad wrapped in polyester batting. Arms are slim and low, and the chair sits on casters that spin a full circle, so it slides in and out from the table without lifting.
The silhouette comes from mid-century lounge seating, scaled down and softened for the dining table. It comes in three covers: a rust with a woven, slightly heathered look, a natural cotton-linen blend, and a smooth ivory. The rust is the standout, a warm clay tone that sits well beside walnut, brass, and plaster-colored walls.
This is a chair for rooms where the table is small or doubles as a desk. Pull up two or four to a round pedestal table, or set one at a writing table where you will stay seated for a while. The seat is deeper and more enclosed than a standard side chair, so it holds up to long dinners and slow Sunday mornings.
